The Bement Community Council was organized in 1955 after Bement's Centennial. The Council's main activities include 4th of July in Bement with a parade and fireworks. Easter Egg Lane is also a Community Council event where Highway 105 on the north side of the tracks is decorated throughout the Easter Season. The second Saturday in December is the annual Bement Community Council Christmas in Bement with a parade and Santa Clause. Their main fundraising activity is the annual Soup Lunch in February where members can be seen serving chili and homemade chicken noodle soup. The organization is composed of members from organizations in town as well as at large members. The current President is Jeff Funk, Vice President is Marilyn Ayers, Secretary is Frances Kurr and Treasurer is Ken Wright. The Bement Community Council meets the 4th Thursday of the month at the Bement Public Library. The Council is always looking for new members.
