The Bement Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) recognizes four Chamber Members of the Month for April, First Presbyterian Church of Bement, Hinds Funeral Home, Jennings Implement Company, and Kirby Medical Center. The Chamber Members of the Month have been chosen by an alphabetical listing of business and organization members.
First Presbyterian Church of Bement
The First Presbyterian Church of Bement was organized in 1868. It wasn’t until 1874 that services were held in the newly constructed church. The current church building was finished in 1922. First Presbyterian Church of Bement offers an active church choir, Sunday School for pre-school through adults, a Praise Puppet Ministry, benevolent missions local and worldwide and faithful ministry. Marsha Frederick has been pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Bement since 1988. From September to May, Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. and Worship Service begins at 10:30 a.m. and from June to August, Sunday School begins at 9:00 a.m. and Worship Service begins at 10:00 a.m. They are located at 249 North Macon in Bement and can be reached by phone at 217-678-4491. Hinds Funeral Home
Hinds Funeral Home, a full service family funeral business, is directed by Aaron and Sue Hinds. Aaron is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer and has provided quality funeral service for Bement , Ivesdale and area communities for the past 13 years. They have made a commitment to offer quality care for those in need. Some services they offer include traditional funeral services, cremation services, and graveside services with a focus on making sure the family’s needs are totally taken care of by one place.
