• Monthly Meetings - Members enjoy a monthly meeting the first Thursday of every month. Each meeting includes a special guest speaker and a meal at one of our member restaurants. This is an important time for the business and organizational entities to get together so that we can help Bement continue to grow. This is a great time for networking and collaboration.
  • Group Insurance Plan - As we continue to search for benefits that may help our members save money, a group insurance plan is underway. If you are interested in getting a quote for the Bement Area Chamber of Commerce's group insurance plan, please contact Brenda Pregler at 678-8232.
  • Website - Our website is a tool that we plan to utilize as much as possible. Once complete, this website will include features such as links from the membership directory page that will lead visitors to your own business and organizational websites. It will also be a great medium to advertise anything that your business would like to advertise!
  • Old Glory Days of Lincoln-Douglas Festival - Focusing on Bement's rich history with the Bryant Cottage State Historic Site, and also in conjunction with the annual Lions Club Chicken Fry, the second Saturday of every June the Bement Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors a town-wide festival bringing in people who spend the day at our historic site and in our city parks enjoying a true small-town festival. Providing an annual festival gives our members and sponsors exposure.
  • Annual Membership Directories - As another new benefit to our members, we are currently working on a membership directory publication, which will be an annual print of our local chamber members, and will be available as a quick reference to locate a business or organization's information. The booklet will be available to Bement, Ivesdale, and Milmine residents and the surrounding areas.
  • Bement's 4th of July - The Bement Community Council provides a full day of fun activities during the 4th of July and the Bement Area Chamber of Commerce likes to utilize this opportunity to get involved. We try to submit an entry in the parade and throw candy. Each piece of candy has a chamber member's name printed on it. We also try to get volunteers to setup a booth during the festivities where we are able to advertise for your business or organization by providing freebies, business cards and/or items you may have for sale.
  • Bement's Christmas Celebration - Another activity the Bement Community Council provides for enjoyment, and the Bement Area Chamber of Commerce tries to support this event by having an entry in the Christmas parade and throwing candy with chamber member's names on them. This past year the Bement Area Chamber of Commerce was excited to work with the Bement Community Council in providing vendors throughout the day, and we hope to make it an annual occurrence. This also gives our members exposure.
  • Chamber After Hours - This is an opportunity for each business or organizational member to provide a social event for members and guests. It's an excellent way to invite members into your business or place of organization and see what you have to offer. Chamber after hours provides a great opportunity for networking.
  • Monthly Newsletter - Included every month with the invitation to the monthly meeting is a newsletter. The newsletter discusses what happened at the last Chamber meeting. We also try to have a Chamber representative at all Village meetings, and those minutes are relayed in the newsletter as well. Our goal is to keep you informed about your community and business updates.
  • Political Adversary - We have a volunteer to keep members abreast of the latest political happenings at the local, state, and federal levels. This will keep members informed and allow us to relay political information to our members at monthly meetings, in the monthly newsletter mailing, or by email when necessary.
  • Point of Contact - When new and old residents alike are looking for information about anything Bement, they look to the Bement Area Chamber of Commerce. When contacted, we are able to point people in the direction of our members!
  • New Resident Packages - The new resident packages are a great way to contact new residents and gain new business customers. Inside the packages are freebies, brochures, and business cards of chamber members. We appreciate being able to work with the Village of Bement in providing us the new resident addresses.
