In June and July the BACC Economic Development Committee gave a presentation to the Bement Village Board and the Bement Area Chamber of Commerce members regarding business retention, and in August the committee began asking individuals within the community to think ways we can all help each other.“In comparing the many figures from our presentation, we all know there are multiple advantages for the community and its residents as a whole when our local businesses and organizations are supported. The Economic Development Committee understands that we lead by example and we’ve all thought about how much money we spend outside the community or if we are showing support by physically being at and sometimes helping with Bement organizational events. We would like everyone to take some time to figure out how much money you spend outside of the community and if you can make the commitment to supporting locally. There may be something we all can do to lead by example,” stated Bement Area Chamber of Commerce President Tabitha Elder.
