If a man walks due south for 4 miles and then due north for 3 miles, what is the maximum distance he can be from where he started. (this is not as easy as it looks)
7 Miles
It all depends on where you start your journey. If you start 4 miles north of the south pole and walk due south for 4 miles. Then continue walking you will be walking north for 3 miles therefor you will have traveled 7 miles.
