Hello Bement Area Chamber of Commerce Members!

I would like to start out by thanking each of you for your continued support of the Bement Area Chamber of Commerce. Being involved in organizations such as this is vital to small towns, and your involvement is greatly appreciated.

As you know, I stepped down as the Executive Director late last year due to time constraints. The board has been working to find a replacement; however, they have not been able to find someone to fill the position. Not wanting the chamber to dissipate, we have come together for a solution!

I am being reinstated as the Executive Director. Along with this, we have come up with some changes. The chamber will no longer be having monthly meetings. Instead, there will be the annual meeting and a general meeting. These will take place in the spring and the fall. Additionally, the community calendar will not be mailed out quarterly. Instead, we are working to make the calendar on the website more inclusive and updated more frequently. Additionally, we will email out a monthly overview of upcoming activities for our members to print and make available to patrons visiting their businesses. We will accommodate the members that do not use email, but where possible, email will replace paper communications. There may be other changes along the way, but for now, we think this should significantly decrease the workload while maintaining the Chamber’s standing. Given the late notice, there will not be a spring meeting this year.

Again, your participation in the Bement Area Chamber of Commerce is very important to us, and for that we would like to show our gratitude. Based on the limited actions of the Chamber for the last membership year, we are going to be offering the 2018-2019 renewal memberships at half rate. The invoices for the next membership year will be sent out by the end of May.
